Cropin Technology Solutions is an Indian multinational agricultural technology (AgTech) company that provides digital agriculture and precision agriculture solutions. The company was founded in 2010.[1] by Krishna Kumar and is headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Cropin’s ecosystem has been reported to address systemic challenges in global food systems, including food security[2], climate vulnerability[3], among other social issues. Its tools support climate-smart agriculture[4], deforestation-free sourcing compliance[5], supply chain resilience[6]. Cropin partners with governments and international development organizations, The World Bank[7], World Economic Forum[8], EIT Food[9] (Co-funded by the EU), The Government of India[10], and The Global Environment Facility[11].

Cropin develops software platforms that use data analytics, satellite imagery, and artificial intelligence to support agricultural supply chains, farm management, and crop monitoring.

History

Cropin was founded in 2010 in Bengaluru. As of 2026, the company has raised approximately US$47 million in funding[12] from venture capital and strategic investors including the Gates Foundation[13], Google[14], British International Investment[15], Chiratae Ventures[16], ABC Impact[17], Ankur Capital[18] and others.

Cropin raised ₹113 crore[19] (approximately US$13-14 million) in funding from investors including Google, along with existing investors ABC Impact and Chiratae Ventures in January 2025.

The company launched Cropin Cloud[20] in 2022, a platform designed to provide digital tools for agricultural data management, analytics, and artificial intelligence-based insights.

Cropin was named a Technology Pioneer in 2024 by the World Economic Forum[21].

Products and Technology

Cropin provides its solutions through Cropin Cloud[22], a cloud-based platform designed for agricultural digitization, intelligence, and data analytics[23].

Computer Weekly described Cropin Cloud as a platform for crop monitoring, farm operations management, agricultural data collection, supply chain digitization, yield forecasting, and agricultural data analytics.(Cropin Cloud[24]).

As per the report from Bloomberg article in 2024, Cropin has unveiled Sage[25], a generative AI-based agricultural intelligence tool for crop yield forecasts and insights using satellite data[26] and climate information.

In 2026, the company announced the Cropin Ecosystem[27], a collaborative platform integrating geospatial data, intelligence and services from partners including Google, Boston Consulting Group, Planet Labs, and The Weather Company.

Operations

As of 2025, Financial Times and Times of India reported that its technology had been deployed across more than 100 countries[28] and covering approximately 30 million acres of farmland[29], supporting more than 7 million[30] farmers.

Its agricultural data models cover over 500 crops and 10,000[31] crop varieties. Cropin datasets cover agricultural intelligence across more than 1 billion acres of cultivable land globally, according to a 2026 report by CIOL[32]
