Comingsoon.it is an Italian online newspaper published by Anicaflash, covering film, television broadcasts, television series, and digital video.

History

Comingsoon.it was established in 1999 by Anicaflash, a company that has produced and distributed film trailer segments for television since 1977.[1][2] According to Audiweb data reported by industry publications, the site averaged 2.23 million unique users and 9.4 million page views per month as of September 2016, making it the most visited Italian film website at that time.[2][3]

In 2008, the site launched a companion mobile application, Coming Soon Cinema, for iOS and Android.[2][3]

Content

The site's content is produced by an editorial team and organised into several thematic sections.[2]

Cinema

The cinema section is the site's primary area. It publishes daily news and provides coverage of major film festivals, including the Venice, Rome, Cannes, and Berlin festivals. The site maintains a database of film entries that include plot summaries, cast lists, photographs, trailers, and user comments. It also offers a searchable cinema scheduling tool ("trovacinema") that lists screening times for Italian theatres, and a release calendar covering current, past, and upcoming film releases.[2]

Film in TV

The site provides a weekly television guide for films broadcast on terrestrial digital television and Sky, including prime‑time recommendations and selected highlights.[2]

TV

The television section covers programmes across terrestrial digital TV and Sky, offering schedules, previews of soap operas, and updates on popular shows.[2]

Series TV

A dedicated section covers television series, including news about upcoming seasons, previews, US ratings charts, and schedules for current episodes. The site also maintains a database with information on recent seasons and episodes.[2]

Editorial staff

The editorial team comprises professional journalists registered with the Italian Order of Journalists.[4] In addition to the editorial staff, the site has technical, marketing, and commercial teams responsible for portal management and development.[5]

Comingsoon.it is registered as an online newspaper with the Court of Rome under registration number 332/2001, published by Anicaflash S.r.l.[6]
