Combilift is an Irish manufacturer of material-handling equipment based in Monaghan, Ireland. The company produces multidirectional forklifts, designed for handling long and bulky loads in confined spaces and exports its products internationally.[1]

History

Combilift was founded in 1998 by Martin McVicar and Robert Moffett to develop forklift technology capable of operating in confined spaces while handling long loads.[1]

The company expanded its manufacturing operations during the 2000s and developed an international export market, supplying equipment to multiple global industries.[2]

In 2018, Combilift opened a new global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Monaghan, Ireland, as part of a major expansion that included job creation and increased production capacity.[3]

Products

Combilift manufactures a range of materials-handling equipment for industrial and warehouse use, including multidirectional forklifts, pedestrian-operated stackers and straddle carriers.[1]

The company is best known for its multidirectional forklift trucks, which can travel both longitudinally and laterally allowing operators to handle long loads in narrow aisles. Its equipment is used in industries included timber, steel, construction materials and manufacturing.[1]

Operations

Products design, engineering and manufacturing are carried out at the company's facility in Monaghan, Ireland. The site serves as the company's global headquarters and production center.[3]

Independent industry reporting has described the company's manufacturing processes and equipment production at its Irish facility.[4]

Growth

Combilift has expanded its international operations and export activity since its founding. [2]

Reporting in national media has described the company's revenue growth and business expansion, including its development of new markets such as offshore wind energy.[5]

The company has also reported business impacts linked to global supply chain disruptions affecting manufacturing outputs and sales.[6]

Awards and recognition

Combilift had been included in the Deloitte's Ireland Best Managed Companies programme, which recognises privately owned Irish businesses for performance and management practices.[7]

In 2022, Combilift was named Manufacturing Exporter of the Year at the Export Industry Awards, organised by the Irish Exporters Association.[8]
