Clootrack (legally Clootrack Software Labs) is an Indian enterprise software company and voice-of-the-customer analytics platform. Founded in 2017 by Shameel Abdulla and Subbakrishna Rao, the company has offices in Bengaluru and Kochi in India and in Claymont, Delaware, in the United States.[1]
Clootrack collates first-party and third-party customer feedback from sources such as online reviews, surveys, contact-centre conversations and social media, and uses natural language processing, unsupervised machine learning and generative AI to group the feedback into themes and sentiment.[1][2][3]
Before founding Clootrack, Abdulla co-founded Jiffstore, a hyperlocal grocery startup that was acquired by PepperTap in December 2015 in a cash-and-stock deal.[4] Abdulla and Rao met during the Jiffstore period and went on to co-found Clootrack in April 2017, with Abdulla as chief executive officer and Rao as chief technology officer.[1]
In January 2019, Clootrack raised approximately US$500,000 in seed funding in a round led by the Indian Angel Network, with participation from Unicorn India Ventures, Salamander Excubator Angel Fund and Malabar Angel Network. The investor group included Kris Gopalakrishnan, co-founder of Infosys, and Anthony Thomas, then global chief information officer of Nissan Motors, who joined the company's board.[5][6]
In September 2021, the company announced a US$4 million Series A round led by Inventus Capital India (subsequently renamed Athera Venture Partners), with participation from Unicorn India Ventures, IAN Fund and Salamander Excubator Angel Fund, bringing total external funding at the time to approximately US$4.6 million.[1][2] At the time of the Series A round, Clootrack was working with more than 150 customers, predominantly in India, with a growing base in the United States and Europe.[1]
In August 2022, Unicorn India Ventures entered into a strategic agreement with the US-based Continuum Fund to transfer its stakes in six portfolio startups, including Clootrack, for a combined INR 50 crore.[7]
Clootrack ingests data from first-party sources such as customer relationship management systems, website forms and support tickets, as well as third-party sources including e-commerce reviews and social media. It applies natural language processing, unsupervised machine learning and generative AI to categorise and interpret the feedback at scale.[1][2][3]
Clootrack's sentiment analysis links customer feedback to specific themes, topics and experience drivers, and its unsupervised thematic analysis surfaces patterns in consumer behaviour and buying behaviour from unstructured text at scale.[3][8][9]
In May 2023, Clootrack added large-language-model support to its platform through a feature called AskClootrack, which used OpenAI's GPT-3, GPT-4 and ChatGPT models to let users query customer feedback data in natural language.[10]
Clootrack is a member of the NASSCOM DeepTech Club, an industry programme run by the National Association of Software and Service Companies for Indian deep-technology startups.[11]
