Cialfo

Cialfo is a Singapore-based educational technology company that develops software for college and career guidance. Founded in 2017 by Rohan Pasari, Stanley Chia and William Hund, the company provides tools used by schools, counsellors and students to research universities, manage college applications and communicate during the admissions process. Cialfo operates primarily through a subscription model in which schools provide access to counsellors, students and their parents or guardians.[1]

History

Cialfo developed from an education consultancy established by Rohan Pasari and Stanley Chia. The consultancy began operating in 2012 and provided college admissions guidance to students. Pasari and Chia later expanded the business to include software for managing the university application process. In 2017, they sold the consultancy business and, together with William Hund, established Cialfo as a technology-focused company.[2]

The company's early platform allowed students and counsellors to manage application materials and research universities. It also developed integrations with services including the Common Application and Parchment.[2]

Funding and expansion

In May 2019, Cialfo raised USD 3 million in a Series A funding round led by DLF Venture. SEEDS Capital, YK Capital and angel investors also participated in the round. At the time, the company said the funding would be used to expand its operations in the United States.[2]

In February 2021, Cialfo extended its Series A funding round to USD 15 million. The extension was co-led by Susquehanna International Group and Vulcan Capital, with participation from January Capital, Bisk Ventures and existing investors. The company said it planned to use the funding for product development and expansion in India, China and Southeast Asia.[3]

Cialfo raised a further USD 40 million in a Series B round in January 2022. The round was led by Square Peg and SEEK Investments and included participation from several of the company's existing investors. TechCrunch reported that the funding brought the company's total capital raised at the time to USD 55 million.[1]

Two months later, Cialfo raised an additional USD 20 million in a Series B extension led by Tiger Global. The investment brought the company's reported total funding to USD 77 million.[4]

Platform

Cialfo provides software used by schools to support students during the college and university application process. Its platform includes university research tools, application-management functions and communication tools for students and school counsellors.[1]

The company also developed Direct Apply, a feature through which students can search for and apply to participating university programmes through the Cialfo platform. The service operates alongside other application and document-management functions used by counsellors and students.[2]

Cialfo's business model is primarily business-to-business, with schools purchasing subscriptions and providing platform access to their counsellors and students. Parents and guardians can also be given access to information associated with a student's application process.

Manifest Global

By 2025, Cialfo was part of the portfolio of Manifest Global, a Singapore-headquartered education investment company led by Cialfo co-founder Rohan Pasari. In April 2025, Manifest Global acquired the university and careers guidance platform BridgeU from Kaplan. Following the acquisition, BridgeU joined a group of education businesses that included Cialfo.[5]
