Chris Meniw (full name Christian Meniw; born Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine lawyer and technology entrepreneur. He is the founder of Chris Meniw Foundation Inc. and the creator of ZOE, an agentic artificial intelligence system deployed as a teacher in Argentina in 2025.[1][2] He is also co-author of a study on Latin American–Indian economic relations published by the Inter-American Development Bank in 2017.[3]
Meniw holds a law degree from the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires. He worked in international trade and legal consulting for over two decades, serving as commercial representative of the United Arab Emirates in Argentina and as Director of the India–Argentina Chamber of Commerce. During Expo 2020 Dubai, an agreement was signed for the expansion of an Argentine company under his representation, as documented by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.[4]
He subsequently became active as a speaker on artificial intelligence and emerging technology, appearing at conferences in multiple countries.
ZOE is an agentic artificial intelligence system developed by Chris Meniw Foundation Inc. On 11 August 2025, ZOE was deployed at Colegio San José in Villa Cañás, Santa Fe Province, Argentina, in a pilot programme involving 160 secondary-school students, with authorization from the provincial Ministry of Education. Infobae described it as "the first artificial intelligence teacher in Latin America".[1] The deployment was reported by La Gaceta,[5] Radio Nacional Argentina,[2] and C5N, among other Argentine media outlets.[6]
In August 2024, Meniw led a mission in which a bottle of Argentine Malbec wine was sent into the stratosphere via hydrogen balloon, reaching an altitude of approximately 33.5 kilometres. The stated objective was to study the effects of near-space conditions — including radiation, near-zero atmospheric pressure, and extreme temperature variation — on food and beverages. The event was covered by Clarín[7] and Forbes Argentina.[8]
Meniw is co-author of LatIndia: The Future of Cooperation between India and Latin America, published in the Integration and Trade Journal (Vol. 21, No. 43, December 2017) by the Inter-American Development Bank.[3]
