Based in Southern Illinois, Apocalypstic is an indie alt-rock band comprised of four members (Maureen Crain, Caleb Crain, Cory Schroeder, and Chris Parsons). Their live sets consist of 90's & 2000's alt-rock covers, original music, and modern alt-rock indie (sometimes classified as bubblegrunge or shoegaze in the sub-genre department). Their studio work falls under the same groups & subgroups.
Maureen Crain is the lead vocalist and co-founder of Apocalypstic. Gigging consistently around Southern Illinois, Southern Missouri, and Western Kentucky, she headlines Apocalypstic, and sings in two other groups:
• "Sunrise Drive" (Trio with Edwin Linson & Caleb Crain),
• “Wither” (Duo with Caleb Crain).
Caleb Crain, while being the drummer for & a co-founder of Apocalypstic, is also a freelancing producer and sound engineer. He mostly works with local artists & churches in both a live & studio engineering capacity. Occasionally, he works with more nationally recognized acts such as Tony Arata, Jordan Rainer, Julie Roberts, and more.
Cory Schroeder is the rhythm electric guitarist & primary support vocalist for Apocalypstic. He has a diverse musical background, and has played in groups ranging from bluegrass to heavy metal. He sings, plays acoustic & electric guitar, bass, drums, and piano- all by ear. Additionally, he spends his creative free time as a freelancing songwriter in Southern Illinois, and has published collaborative works with People & Songs publishing group.
Chris Parsons is the bassist for Apocalypstic, as well as a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist. Originally from the Atlanta, Georgia area, he was raised amid a variety of musical styles that continue to shape his sound after more than 25 years of creating music. As a solo artist, Chris writes, records, and produces his own songs. He especially utilizes his unique skillset with the band in a live composition role.
