Absolute Digital Pictures (styled as AbsoluteDigital Pictures, also known as Absolute Pictures Limited and formerly Absolute Studios) was a British CGI animation studio based in Glasgow, Scotland.
Absolute Studios was founded by Andy Russel [3] in 1998. In 2003, it would change its name to AbsoluteDigital Pictures
During the 2000s, Absolute Digital Pictures was involved in animation and CGI work for a range of children’s television productions. Projects associated with the studio included The Blobheads co-produced with Decode Entertainment, which they received a Gemini Nomination for[4]. In 2003, they helped develop the TV movie Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Kids which would later get turned into a TV series in 2004, both were co-production with Callaway Arts & Entertainment and Nelvana. The studio also worked on the BBC CGI animated television film Robbie the Reindeer.[5]
Absolute Digital Pictures was also involved in the production and distribution of the animated television series Animalia[6], which was distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide and PorchLight Entertainment.[7]
In addition to television and film work, the studio contributed to the development of several video games. Examples of these projects include Noddy: Let’s Get Ready for School (1998), Walking with Beasts: Operation Salvage (2001), and Bob the Builder: Bob’s Castle Adventure (2003).
In 2010, Andy Russell, the founder of Absolute Digital Pictures, founded Different Films replacing Absolute Digital Pictures
