101domain is an American ICANN-accredited domain name registrar headquartered in Vista, California. Founded in 1999, the company provides domain name registration, DNS management, SSL certificates, web hosting, and corporate brand protection services. It is known for carrying one of the broadest selections of top-level domains (TLDs) of any registrar, including the majority of country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs) and internationalized domain names.
101domain was founded in 1999 by Wolfgang Reile as part of the RWG Internet Marketing Group, based in Carlsbad, California.[1] Anthony M. Beltran served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer alongside Reile.
In October 2015, Afilias, an Irish domain name registry managing more than 20 million domain names, acquired 101domain.[2] Following the acquisition, Reile stepped down and Beltran assumed leadership as President and CEO. Domain Incite reported the deal as Afilias' first significant entry into the registrar market.[3]
In 2018, Domain Incite reported that Reile's estate and Beltran had filed suit against Afilias over an unpaid $1 million portion of the $15.5 million acquisition.[4]
101domain offers domain registration across a wide range of TLDs, including generic TLDs (gTLDs) and country-code TLDs. Its corporate services division provides domain portfolio management, brand monitoring, domain acquisition, DNS management, and trademark enforcement. The company serves customers in over 180 countries.
In 2024, 101domain launched Domain.ai, an AI-powered domain name search tool.
