In the 2021 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Division No. 4 had a population of 19,253 living in 9,196 of its 10,900 total private dwellings, a change of -5.6% from its 2016 population of 20,387. With a land area of 7,019.97 km² (2,710.43 sq mi), it had a population density of 2.7/km² (7.1/sq mi) in 2021.^[3]
