At the time of the 2006 National Census, the rural district's population (as a part of the Central District) was 7,461 in 1,607 households.[5] There were 9,304 inhabitants in 2,279 households at the following census of 2011,[6] by which time the rural district had been separated from the district in the establishment of Mehran District.[3] The 2016 census measured the population of the rural district as 10,304 in 2,843 households. The most populous of its 29 villages was Kanakh, with 2,240 people.[2]
