Da Agent, who's real name is Ivan Wabwire, is a Ugandan rapper.[1] He is widely described in the Ugandan entertainment press as one of the country's fastest rappers, a reputation built on a rapid-fire delivery he calls "Lugaflow Lufulaa", which fuses fast-paced Luganda rap with traditional sayings, proverbs, riddles and indigenous rhythms.[2][3][4]
Da Agent was born Ivan Wabwire to Annette Nambi and Godfrey Wamalwa and grew up in Kampala. He developed his rapping through school freestyle sessions and underground battles in the Bwaise area of the city, an environment that shaped his lyrical and storytelling style.[2]
Da Agent emerged professionally around 2015 with the songs "Akadodi"[5] and "Nturika",[6] which introduced audiences to his fast-paced Lugaflow sound and its cultural influences from the Gishu Kadodi rhythms of eastern Uganda.[7] Entertainment profiles published in the late 2010s frequently highlighted his speed and technical delivery, with several commentators calling him Uganda's fastest rapper.[2][8]
He initially worked under Savaam Management before pursuing independent operations associated with Tokopa Force, a shift he has said gave him greater creative control. His 2024 release "Tewepima Nange" continued his signature aggressive, rapid style.
In 2026 he released the single "Daddy Daddy",[9] a more melodic, romantic record that the press characterised as a departure from his rapid-fire rap toward a sound aimed at a broader audience.[10]
Da Agent is known for sustaining high-speed lyrical delivery across entire verses rather than accelerating only for effect. His "Lugaflow Lufulaa" style blends rapid Luganda rap with proverbs, street slang and humour, and draws on the Kadodi cultural traditions of eastern Uganda. Commentators have noted his consistency in staying with culturally grounded hip hop at a time when much of Uganda's mainstream has shifted toward Afropop.[11][12]
Da Agent has won multiple times at the Galaxy FM Zzina Awards, an annual fan-voted ceremony recognising Ugandan music, chiefly in its Lugaflow/rap song category.[13][14][15] In a 2017 interview he said the recognition he receives from fellow rappers was, at that point, his biggest achievement.[16]
