Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT; simplified Chinese: 中南林业科技大学; traditional Chinese: 中南林業科技大學; pinyin: Zhōngnán Línyè Kējì Dàxué) is a university located in Changsha, Hunan, China.[2][3][4][5] The university covers a total area of 2,230 mu, with more than 101.3 square meters of floor space.[5][6]
As of fall 2013, the university has 3 campuses, a combined student body of 41,000 students, 2,510 faculty members.[5][6]
The university consists of 22 colleges, with 69 specialties for undergraduates, 97 specialties for master's degree candidates and 44 specialties for doctoral candidates. At present, the university has 7 research institutions and research centres, including 4 national engineering research centres, 3 key national disciplines, and 1 national key laboratory.[5][6]
History
Central South University of Forestry and Technology was founded in 1958. It was initially called "Hunan Academy of Forestry".[5]
In November 2001, Hunan School of Forestry and Hunan Forestry Industrial School merged with Hunan Academy of Forestry.
In December 2005, it was the constitution renamed "Central South University of Forestry and Technology".
