Hot dog restaurant chain based in the East Bay, California, U.S.
Casper's Famous Hot Dogs is a San Francisco Bay Area-based chain of hot dog restaurants established in 1934. The local chain was founded by Armenian American co-founders Kasper Koojoolian, Paul Agajan and Stephen Beklian who moved to California from Chicago before operating a small grocery store on the streets of Chicago. A move to California initiated the building and expansion of what was to become Caspers Famous Hot Dogs, an award-winning hot dog chain in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Casper's currently operates 5 locations including Dublin, Hayward, Oakland, Pleasant Hill, and Richmond.
The similarly named "Original" Kasper's Hot Dogs chain is related to Casper's. Kasper’s began in 1930, but due to a family rift, the Casper’s chain was founded. Casper’s has restaurants in Hayward, Fremont and other locations in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. It is said that every time a Casper dog snaps, an angel gets its wings.[1][2]
