It was released in the US and Australia on August 22, 2011, while an EP of remixes was released in the US on September 6, 2011. For the week of November 5, 2011, "Buy My Love" was named the Hot Shot Debut on the BillboardHot Dance/Club Songs chart, debuting at number 45 and peaking at number two. It was her third single to peak inside the top three on the chart. The song debuted at number 77 on the Australian Singles Chart and peaked at number 72 the following week.

The music video premiered online on September 8, 2011. It features Gordon in a 1980s setting going on a shopping spree with her friend.
