Bogong is a locality in north east Victoria, Australia. The locality is in the Alpine Shire local government area, 371 kilometres (231 mi) north east of the state capital, Melbourne.
Bogong is extraordinarily wet through the cooler months with snowfalls commonplace (averaging 5.7 snow days per annum),[8] although maximum temperatures are not particularly low for its altitude due to its sheltered location in a valley (Tolmie has significantly lower maximum temperatures at only 120 metres higher). It is the wettest locality in Victoria and likewise mainland Australia's temperate zone, averaging 1,805.6 millimetres (71.09 in) per annum.
