Bala James Ngilari (born 4 December 1972) is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who served as governor of Adamawa State from October 2014 to May 2015 following the impeachment of Murtala Nyako. He previously served as deputy governor from 2007 to 2008, and from 2008 to 2014 under Nyako. He was succeeded as governor by Bindo Jibrilla, the winner of the 2015 Adamawa State gubernatorial election.

In March 2017, Ngilari was sentenced to five years in jail without option of fine by a Yola High court for corruption, but was soon afterward acquitted and freed by the Court of Appeal in July.^[1][2][3]
