Alison Levitt, Baroness Carlile of Berriew, KC, is a British member of the judiciary. She was nominated for a life peerage in December 2024 by Prime Minister Keir Starmer for the Labour Party.[1] Levitt is a Master of the Bench of the Inner Temple. Levitt was the Principal Legal Advisor to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) under the directorships of Starmer and Alison Saunders.[2] Levitt was considered a possible successor to Saunders at the DPP in 2018.[2] She was the head of the business crime group at Mishcon de Reya.[2] She has served as a Circuit Judge.[1] She is married to Alex Carlile, Baron Carlile of Berriew.
