Alex Tecza is an American football running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Navy Midshipmen.

Early life and high school

Tecza attended Mt. Lebanon High School in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. Coming out of high school, he committed to play college football for the Navy Midshipmen over offers from Dartmouth, Holy Cross, and Penn.[1]

College career

As a freshman during the 2022 season, Tecza did not appear in any games.[2] In the 2023 season, he rushed for 758 yards and five touchdowns, while hauling in 16 receptions for 97 yards.[3] During the 2024 season, Tecza recorded 576 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground, while bringing in 12 receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns.[4] In the 2025 regular season finale, he posted 50 rushing yards in a win over rival Army.[5] Tecza finished the 2025 season, rushing for 902 yards and 10 touchdown, while notching 13 receptions for 125 yards and a touchdown.[6] After the conclusion of the season, he declared for the NFL draft.[7]

After going undrafted in the 2026 NFL draft, Tecza signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent.[10]
