The brigade was activated in April 2022. It took part in battles in the Zaporizhzhia direction in December 2022.[2]
In June 2023, the brigade took part in the assault towards Melitopol as part of the broader Ukrainian counteroffensive. The Ukrainian forces managed to take the village of Robotyne but were stopped by the Russians nearby. Major Taras Mykhalchuk "The Spaniard", deputy commander of the 3rd battalion, was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 2nd class for planning and carrying out the assault.[3] Mykhalchuk later declared that he had initially thought his attack to be a diversion, given that the Orikhiv-Robotyne sector was the most heavily mined and defended part of the front.[4]
The Brigade Colour was presented on May 6, 2024.
As of September 2024, the brigade was holding the same stretch of front near Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia. Most of its initial members had been either wounded or killed since 2022.[4]
