During the 1979–80 English football season, Queens Park Rangers competed in the Second Division
Season summary
Tommy Docherty almost led the R's to promotion
back to the first division as Rangers led the league in late November but fell away to finish 5th in his
first season in charge .In other Competitions there was an early exit in the F A cup and defeat over two legs to eventual winner Wolves.
