Τα τριβόμενα σύμφωνα είναι φθόγγοι των ανθρώπινων γλωσσών που παράγονται με το στένεμα της φωνητικής οδού με την προσέγγιση των αρθρωτών που με τη σειρά της παράγει την χαρακτηριστική τριβή. Στα τριβόμενα ανήκει μια ειδική υποκατηγορία, τα συριστικά που παράγονται με τη δημιουργία ενός στενού καναλιού στη γλώσσα που οδηγεί τον αέρα στην άνω οδοντοστοιχία.

Στην ελληνική γλώσσα τα τριβόμενα είναι τα εξής: χειλοδοντικά [f], [v], οδοντικά [θ], [ð], φατνιακά [s], [z], ουρανικά [ç], [ʝ] και υπερωικά [x], [ɣ], με όλα να αποτελούν φωνήματα πέραν των δύο ουρανικών.[1]
