Η Κοπακαμπάνα (πορτογαλικά Copacabana) είναι παραθαλάσσια γειτονιά στο Ρίο ντε Τζανέιρο, στη Βραζιλία, γνωστή για τη μήκους τεσσάρων χιλιομέτρων παραλία της, η οποία είναι μια από τις πιο γνωστές παραλίες στον κόσμο.[1] Η περιοχή αρχικά ονομαζόταν Σακοπενάπα από τη γλώσσα των Τούπι, που σημαίνει ο «δρόμος των σοκός» (σοκός = είδος πουλιού), μέχρι τα μέσα του 18ου αιώνα. Μετονομάστηκε μετά την κατασκευή ενός εξωκκλησιού με αντίγραφο της Παρθένου της Κοπακαμπάνα, πολιούχου της Βολιβίας.[2] Στο νότιο άκρο της βρίσκεται το οχυρό Κοπακαμπάνα, μια ναυτική βάση η οποία κατασκευάστηκε το 1914 και σήμερα λειτουργεί ως μουσείο της ιστορίας του στρατού. Στη συνέχεια είναι η παραλία Αρποαντόρ και ακόμα πιο πέρα βρίσκεται η διάσημη γειτονιά Ιπανέμα, γνωστή και αυτή για την παραλία της.
