Το εθνικό έμβλημα της Γουινέας-Μπισσάου καθιερώθηκε λίγο μετά την ανεξαρτησία από την Πορτογαλία το 1973. Το κύριο σημείο του είναι ένα μαύρο αστέρι, το οποίο είναι μέρος παραδοσιακού παναφρικανικού συμβόλου και το οποίο αναφέρεται επίσης ως το Μαύρο Αστέρι της Αφρικής. Ένα θαλάσσιο όστρακο στο κάτω μέρος ενώνεται με δύο κλαδιά ελιάς.
