Ο Φραγκίσκος-Ιωσήφ Α΄, γερμ. Franz Joseph I (19 Νοεμβρίου 1726 - 18 Αυγούστου 1781) από τον Οίκο του Λίχτενσταϊν ήταν πρίγκιπας του Λίχτενσταϊν (1772-1781).

Βιογραφία

Ήταν ο πρωτότοκος γιος του Εμμανουήλ και της Μαρίας-Άννας-Αντωνίας κόμισσας του Ντήτριχσταϊν-Βάιχσελστατ και βαρόνης του Χόλλενμπουρκ & Φίνκενσταϊν.

Γεννήθηκε στο Μιλάνο και είχε άλλα 12 αδέλφια. Το 1772 διαδέχθηκε τον θείο του Ιωσήφ-Βέντσελ πρίγκιπα του Λίχτενσταϊν, μια και ο πατέρας του είχε αποβιώσει ένα έτος πριν. Ήδη από το 1723, όταν απεβίωσε βρέφος και ο τρίτος γιος του θείου του, ο Ιωσήφ-Βέντσελ τον πήρε μαζί του· ο Φραγκίσκος-Ιωσήφ ακολούθησε τον θείο του κατά την εκστρατεία στη Βόρειο Ιταλία και πολέμησε μαζί του στη μάχη της Πιασέντσα το 1746. Εκεί νίκησε η Γερμανία, της οποίας σύμμαχος ήταν το Λίχτενσταϊν.

Το 1763 ταξίδεψε εξ' ονόματος του Φραγκίσκου Α΄ της Γερμανίας στην Ισπανία για να συναντήσει τη νύφη τού Λεοπόλδου αρχιδούκα της Αυστρίας και 2ου γιου του βασιλιά, στην οποία κόμισε ένα πορτραίτο του Λεοπόλδου. Το 1767 έγινε ιδιαίτερος Σύμβουλος του Ιωσήφ Β΄ (1ου γιου του Φραγκίσκου Α΄) και το 1771 ιππότης του Τάγματος του Χρυσόμαλλου δέρατος.

Το επόμενο έτος έγινε πρίγκιπας του Λίχτενσταϊν και έδειξε μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον για τα οικονομικά προβλήματα του κρατιδίου και την ολοένα αυξανόμενη συλλογή τέχνης του. Απεβίωσε στο Μετς σε ηλικία 55 ετών.

Οικογένεια

Νυμφεύτηκε το 1750 τη Μαρία-Λεοπολδίνα, κόρη του Φραγκίσκου-Φιλίππου κόμη του Στέρνμπερκ από τη Βοημία και είχε τέκνα:

  • Λεοπολδίνα-Μαρία-Άννα-Φραντσέσκα ντε Πάουλα-Αντελγκούντα 1754-1823, παντρεύτηκε τον Καρόλου-Εμμανουήλ λαντγκράβου της Έσσης-Ρότενμπουρκ.
  • Μαρία-Αντωνία-Αλοϋσία-Βαλπουργία-Μέχτιλντις 1756-1821, μοναχή.
  • Άλοϋς Α΄ 1759-1805, πρίγκιπας του Λίχτενσταϊν· άτεκνος.
  • Ιωάννης Α΄ 1760-1836, πρίγκιπας του Λίχτενσταϊν.
  • Φίλιππος-Ιωσήφ-Άλους-Μαρτιανός 1762-1802.
  • Μαρία-Ιωσηφίνα-Έρμενεγκιλντε 1768-1845, παντρεύτηκε τον Νικόλαο πρίγκιπα Εστερχάζυ φον Γκαλάντα από την Ουγγαρία.
