Ο Φιλίπο Γιουβάρα (Filippo Juvarra, Μεσίνα, 1678 - Μαδρίτη, 1736) ήταν Ιταλός αρχιτέκτονας και σκηνογράφος του Μπαρόκ. Τα αρχιτεκτονικά του έργα υιοθέτησαν ένα κλασικιστικό μπαρόκ ρυθμό και εντοπίζονται στην ιστορική Σαβοΐα και τη Μαδρίτη.[9]

Βιογραφία και έργο

Μεγάλωσε στις ισπανικές κτήσεις στην Ιταλία, Σικελία και Νάπολη, όπου ξεκίνησε την καριέρα του ως σκηνογράφος στα διάφορα θέατρα της Μεσίνα, Νάπολης και Ρώμης. Το 1706 εντάχθηκε στην Ακαδημία του Σαν Λούκας. Το 1714 μετακόμισε στη Σαβοΐα όπου εργάστηκε υπό τον Βίκτωρα Αμαδέο Β΄ ως επικεφαλής αρχιτέκτονα της σαβοϊκής αυλής πραγματοποιώντας έργα όπως η κλασικιστική Βασιλική της Σουπέργκα (1731) που λειτούργησε σε μεγάλο βαθμό ως βασιλικό πάνθεον του βασιλείου ή το Περίπτερο Κυνηγιού του Στουπίνγκι (1731). Επίσης σχεδίασε την επέκταση της πρωτεύουσας, Τορίνου, προς τα δυτικά.

Το 1735 ο Γιουβάρα έλαβε την πρόσκληση του Φίλιππου Ε΄ της Ισπανίας για να εργαστεί στην ανανέωση ή ανακατασκευή των βασιλικών ανακτόρων. Ως αποτέλεσμα, σχεδίασε την πρόσοψη του ανακτόρου της Γκράνχα ντε Σαν Ιλντεφόνσο, την κατασκευή του Βασιλικού Ανακτόρου της Μαδρίτης και την ανανέωση του Βασιλικού Ανακτόρου της Αρανχουέθ. Έναν χρόνο αργότερα ωστόσο, ο αρχιτέκτονας απεβίωσε κάτω από περίεργες συνθήκες, με τα έργα του να συνεχίζονται από έτερους αρχιτέκτονες όπως τον μαθητή του, Τζοβάνι Μπατίστα Σακέτι.[10]
