Ο Μιχάλης Ζιάγκας (1936 - 15 Αυγούστου 2017)[1] ήταν Έλληνας πολιτικός,[2] στενός φίλος και συνεργάτης του Ανδρέα Παπανδρέου. Υπήρξε σωματοφύλακάς του στα χρόνια της δικτατορίας, ενώ μεταπολιτευτικά διαδραμάτισε κρίσιμο ρόλο σε διάφορα πολιτικά γεγονότα. Ο επίσημος τίτλος του στα χρόνια πρωθυπουργίας του Ανδρέα Παπανδρέου ήταν «ειδικός γραμματέας στο Ιδιαίτερο Γραφείο του πρωθυπουργού».[3]

Αδελφός του είναι ο Γιάννης Ζιάγκας, που διετέλεσε βουλευτής Τρικάλων και ευρωβουλευτής του ΠΑΣΟΚ, πρόεδρος των πολεμικών βιομηχανιών ΕΛΒΟ και ΠΥΡΚΑΛ και ειδικός συνεργάτης του Προέδρου της Ελληνικής Δημοκρατίας Κάρολου Παπούλια.

Βιογραφικά στοιχεία

Γεννήθηκε στα Τρίκαλα το 1936, ιδιοκτήτης βενζινάδικου.[4] Έζησε αρχικά στην Αυστρία και έπειτα στη Σουηδία, όπου γνωρίστηκε με τον Ανδρέα Παπανδρέου και ανέλαβε πόστο στα κεντρικά γραφεία του ΠΑΚ σε εκείνη τη χώρα.[3]

Αρκετές φορές λειτουργούσε ως σύνδεσμος του πρωθυπουργού με υπουργούς και στελέχη του κρατικού μηχανισμού, ενώ τον συνόδευε και στις νυχτερινές εξόδους του. Οι γνωριμίες και διασυνδέσεις του Ζιάγκα είχαν γίνει αντικείμενο κριτικής από τα κόμματα της αντιπολίτευσης.[4]

Τον Οκτώβριο του 1988, ενώ ο Ανδρέας Παπανδρέου νοσηλευόταν στο Χέρφιλντ του Λονδίνου, ο Ζιάγκας ξυλοκόπησε τον δημοσιογράφο Γιώργο Τράγκα, ενοχλημένος από τις ανταποκρίσεις του για την εφημερίδα «Ελεύθερος Τύπος».

Μετά την πτώση του ΠΑΣΟΚ από την εξουσία το καλοκαίρι του 1989 και τη δολοφονία του Παύλου Μπακογιάννη τον Σεπτέμβριο της ίδιας χρονιάς, η Αντιτρομοκρατική (που τότε πίστευε εσφαλμένα ότι υπάρχει διασύνδεση του ΠΑΣΟΚ με την τρομοκρατία) έκανε έφοδο σε ένα από τα σπίτια του Ζιάγκα, όμως δεν βρήκε τίποτα ενοχοποιητικό. Η ενέργεια αυτή καταδικάστηκε από το σύνολο των αντιπολιτευόμενων πολιτικών δυνάμεων.[5]

Πέθανε στις 15 Αυγούστου του 2017 σε ηλικία 81 ετών.[1]
