Ο Γουλιέλμος Γ΄ ο γενναίος, γερμ. Wilhelm III der tapfere (30 Απριλίου 1425 - 17 Σεπτεμβρίου 1482) από τον Οίκο των Βέττιν ήταν λάντγραβος της Θουριγγίας (1445-82) και διεκδικητής δούκας του Λουξεμβούργου (1457-69).

Βιογραφία

Ήταν ο τρίτος (επιζήσας) γιος του Φρειδερίκου Α΄ εκλέκτορα της Σαξονίας και της Αικατερίνης των Γουέλφων, κόρης του Ερρίκου Α΄ δούκα του Μπράουνσβαϊγκ-Βολφενμπύτελ.

Η σύζυγός του Άννα των Αψβούργων ήταν κόρη της Ελισάβετ των Λουξεμβούργου. Η τελευταία ήταν κόρη του Σιγισμόνδου της Γερμανίας και δούκα του Λουξεμβούργου, ο οποίος αθέτησε την πληρωμή ενός δανείου του και έτσι το δουκάτο πέρασε στην ανιψιά του Ελισάβετ, κόρη του αδελφού του Ιωάννη δούκα του Γκέρλιτς. Η κόρη του Σιγισμόνδου όμως διεκδίκησε το Λουξεμβούργο και το ίδιο συνέχισε και η κόρη της Άννα με τον Γουλιέλμο Γ΄.

Έκοψε αργυρά γκρόσεν, γνωστά ως "γκρόσεν με το κεφάλι του Ιουδαίου", διότι στη μία όψη είχαν το κεφάλι ενός άνδρα με μυτερό γένειο και εβραϊκό πίλο, που ο κόσμος νόμιζε ως Ιουδαίο.

Νυμφεύτηκε το 1446 την Άννα των Αψβούργων, κόρη του Αλβέρτου Β΄ δούκα της Αυστρίας και βασιλιά της Βοημίας & Γερμανίας και είχε τέκνα:
