Ο Γιώργος Τάνος (Γιαννιτσά, 1937 - 12 Ιανουαρίου 2013) ήταν Έλληνας γιατρός και ο πρώτος αιρετός Νομάρχης Πέλλας, την περίοδο 1995-1998[1].

Βιογραφία

Σε πολύ μικρή ηλικία μετανάστευσε στη Γερμανία για να τελειώσει τις ιατρικές σπουδές του και επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα έπειτα από δύο δεκαετίες. Κατά την παραμονή του στη Γερμανία ίδρυσε το Σύνδεσμο των Ελλήνων Ακαδημαϊκών και Επιστημόνων και ανέλαβε τη διεύθυνση του Πανεπιστημιακού Νοσοκομείου του Βερολίνου[2]. Επιστρέφοντας ανέλαβε διευθυντής της Χειρουργικής Κλινικής στο νοσοκομείο της Έδεσσας. Εξελέγη στις εκλογές του 1994 στο δεύτερο γύρο. Ανέλαβε καθήκοντα την 1η Ιανουαρίου 1995 και υπηρέτησε ως τις 31 Δεκεμβρίου 1998.

Ανάμεσα στα έργα του ξεχωρίζει και η ίδρυση και λειτουργία του χιονοδρομικού κέντρου στο Καϊμακτσαλάν.[3]

Πέθανε σε ηλικία 76 ετών. Κηδεύτηκε στις 13 Ιανουαρίου 2013 στον Ιερό Ναό Κοιμήσεως της Θεοτόκου, στην Μητρόπολη Γιαννιτσών. Ήταν παντρεμένος με την Αθηνά Τάνου και είχε 1 γιο και 1 κόρη.
