Οι Αλκυονίδες νήσοι, καλούμενες και κατ΄ ευφημισμό "καλά νησιά"[1][2] αποτελούν ένα νησιωτικό σύμπλεγμα στο ανατολικό τμήμα του Κορινθιακού κόλπου, του λεγόμενου κόλπου της Λιβαδόστρας απέναντι από το ακρωτήριο Ολμιών στο Νομό Κορινθίας.[1]
Το νησιωτικό αυτό σύμπλεγμα αποτελείται από μια συστάδα τεσσάρων νησιών: τη Ζωοδόχο Πηγή, το Δασκαλειό, το Γλαρονήσι και το Πρασονήσι.[3] Πρόκειται για τέσσερις κορυφές υφαλονήσου που εδράζεται σε βάθος 190 μέτρων και που φέρεται να αναδύθηκε σε άγνωστη χρονική στιγμή εξαιτίας γεωλογικών διεργασιών. Εξ αυτού συμπεραίνεται ότι αυτές αποτελούν το επίκεντρο σεισμών που εκδηλώνονται στη περιοχή.

Είναι σχετικά νησιά άνυδρα και υπάρχουν ελάχιστα κτίσματα σε αυτά, καθώς επίσης και ιχθυοκαλλιέργειες. Στο έδαφός τους έχουν εντοπιστεί ερείπια αρχαίων εγκαταστάσεων.

Η περιοχή των «Καλών νήσων», όπως αναφέρθηκε παραπάνω, είναι ιδιαίτερα σεισμογενής και ήταν το επίκεντρο του σεισμού της 24 Φεβρουαρίου 1981, μεγέθους 6,7 Ρίχτερ, με πολλούς νεκρούς στην Αθήνα.[4]

Το όνομά τους, προέρχεται από τις Αλκυονίδες, μυθικές κόρες του γίγαντα Αλκυονέα.
