L’Inconnue

Die Polka L’Inconnue ist eine Polka française von Johann Strauss (Sohn) (op. 182). Das Werk wurde am 2. Augustjul. / 14. August 1856greg. in Pawlowsk in Russland erstmals aufgeführt.

Anmerkungen

Die Polka entstand während der ersten Russlandreise von Johann Strauss im Sommer des Jahres 1856. Die russische Eisenbahngesellschaft hatte ihn dorthin eingeladen. Seine Gastspiele fanden in Pawlowsk, einer Stadt am Endpunkt einer Eisenbahnstrecke von St. Petersburg aus, statt. Die Idee der Gesellschaft war, durch die Konzerte Menschen aus dieser Stadt zum Konzertbesuch zu animieren. Dabei mussten sie selbstverständlich die Eisenbahn benutzen. Der Titelname L’Iconnue (Die Unbekannte) leitet sich nach Meinung einiger Strauss-Experten von den vielen jungen weiblichen Konzertgästen ab, worunter sich möglicherweise eine unbekannte Schönheit befand, für die sich der Komponist näher hätte interessieren können. Wie viel Wahrheit hinter dieser Aussage steht, bleibt offen. Es könnte sich bei dem Titelnamen auch nur um eine Widmung an eine unbekannte Dame handeln.

Die Spieldauer beträgt auf der unter Einzelnachweisen angeführten CD 2 Minuten und 58 Sekunden. Je nach der musikalischen Auffassung des Dirigenten kann diese Zeit etwas variieren.[1]
