Taxonomie

Die Art wurde 1885 von George Nicholson in Illustrated Dictionary of Gardening, a Practical and Scientific Encyclopaedia of Horticulture for Gardeners and Botanists Band 2 Teil 16 Seite 191 als Ipomoea nationis (Hook.) G.Nicholson in die Gattung Ipomoea gestellt.
