August „Gus“ Nemeth (* 1936 in Trenton (New Jersey)) ist ein amerikanischer Jazzmusiker (Kontrabass).

Nemeth spielte zunächst mit Blossom Dearie und mit Bernard Peiffer sowie mit Charlie Ventura.[1] Er lebte seit dem Ende der 1960er Jahre in Frankreich, von wo er 1969 mit Keith Jarrett auf Europatournee ging.[2] Dann arbeitete er mit Jaki Byard, Michael Zwerin, Steve Potts, Hal Singer, Maurice Vander, Alain Jean-Marie sowie Manuel Villarroel. 2015 hörte er mit dem Musikmachen auf.
