Benzoquinon (C6H4O2) er en quinon med en enkelt benzenring. Der er to 2 (ud af 3 hypotetiske benzoquinoner:

  • 1,4-Benzoquinone, mest almindelig commonly, højre billede nedenfor (også para-benzoquinon, p-benzoquinone, para-quinon, eller blot quinone)
  • 1,2-Benzoquinone, less commonly, venstre billede nedenfor (også ortho-benzoquinon, o-benzoquinone, ortho-quinon)

  • 1,3-benzoquinone "eksisterer ikke, fordi strukturen ville være ikke-plan og meget anspændt",[1] men derivativer kendes.

En alkyleret p-benzoquinon er blevet fundet i rhizomer fra planten Iris kemaonensis.[2]
