Rheolir yr offeryn gan ddau antena metel sy'n synhwyro safle dwylo'r chwaraewr, sydd wedi'u hymestyn o'i flaen, heb gyffwrdd â'r offeryn o gwbl. Maer antenâu yn gweithredu fel hanner cynhwysydd; mae dwylo'r chwaraewr yn gweithredu fel ei hanner arall. Mae un llaw yn rheoli amledd osgiliadur; mae'r llall yn rheoli ei osgled (uchelder). Mae'r signalau trydanol o'r theremin yn cael eu mwyhau a'u hanfon at uchelseinydd.
