Cofrestrydd a siartydd o Gymru oedd Morgan Williams (1808 - 17 Hydref 1883).

Cafodd ei eni ym Merthyr Tudful yn 1808. Bu'n ysgrifennydd Cymdeithas Gweithwyr Merthyr ac ef oedd y prif dalent lenyddol ymhlith siartwyr Merthyr. Gyda David John Jr. (mab i weinidog gyda'r Undodiaid), sefydlodd ddau bapur newydd y Siartwyr yn 1840:

  • Udgorn Cymru (cyfnodolyn Cymraeg)
  • The Advocate and Merthyr Free Press (papur Saesneg byrhoedlog). Roedd ganddo wasg argraffu ei hun.

Teithiodd i Gonfensiwn y Siartwyr yn Llundain, i gyflwyno deiseb i'r senedd wedi'i llofnodi gan 36,000 o bobl o Gymru.[1]
