Břetislav Balatka (* 11. ledna 1931, Benešov u Semil) je český fyzický geograf. Zabývá se geomorfologií území ČR, zejména studiem říčních teras. Podílel se i na zpracování fyzickogeografické regionalizace ČR.

"Absolvoval studium odborného zeměpisu na PřF UK v roce 1954. Poté nastoupil jako odborný pracovník do Geografického ústavu ČSAV, kde setrval téměř čtyři desítky let. Po zrušení ústavu v roce 1993 přešel jako celá řada dalších geografů z pražského pracoviště na Přírodovědeckou fakultu UK, kde až dosud působí na katedře Fyzické geografie a geoekologie."[1]
