The Himalayan Times és un diari de gran format del Nepal en anglès. Rajan Pokhrel n'és l'editor en funcions.[1] A l'informe anual de classificació de diaris publicat pel Consell de Premsa del Nepal, va ser classificat a la categoria A+, la màxima qualificació possible.[2]

El diari va ser fundat a finals de 2001[1] i té la seu a la Bagmati Zone, Baidyakhana Road, al barri d'Anamnagar, Katmandú.[3] És propietat d'International Media Network Nepal,[1] que al seu torn és propietat d'uns inversors nepalesos. Els competidors del diari van intentar organitzar-se i fer pressió contra l'entrada de diaris de propietat estrangera al país, però no van tenir èxit.[4]

En el moment de la seva fundació, publicava en dotze pàgines, sis de les quals en color, i tenia un preu de dues rupies nepaleses.[4] En un any, s'havia convertit en un dels principals diaris en anglès del Nepal i afirmava ser el número u pel que fa a la lectura de diaris en anglès.[4]
