En xarxes informàtiques, MILNET (Xarxa Militar completa) era el nom que es donava a la part de la xarxa d'internet ARPANET designada per al trànsit no classificat del Departament de Defensa dels Estats Units.[1][2]

MILNET es va separar físicament d'ARPANET el 1983.[3] ARPANET va romandre en servei per a la comunitat de recerca acadèmica, però la connectivitat directa entre les xarxes es va tallar per motius de seguretat. Les passarel·les retransmetien el correu electrònic entre les dues xarxes. BBN Technologies va construir i gestionar tant MILNET com ARPANET, i les dues xarxes utilitzaven una tecnologia molt similar. També es coneix com a "Xarxa Militar".[4]

Durant la dècada del 1980, MILNET es va expandir com a part de la Defense Data Network,[5] un conjunt mundial de xarxes militars que funcionaven amb diferents nivells de seguretat. A la dècada del 1990, MILNET es va convertir en la NIPRNET.[6]
