Es va fer famosa gràcies a la trilogia L'estiu que em vaig enamorar, que es va adaptar després a la televisió per a Prime Video amb Lola Tung com a protagonista principal. També és l'autora d'una altra trilogia, To All the Boys I've Loved Before, que va ser adaptada per a la plataforma Netflix.
