Haplomeryx és un gènere extint de mamífers artiodàctils de la família dels xifodòntids que visqueren a l'Europa occidental durant l'Eocè, fa entre 33,9 i 41 milions d'anys. Se n'han trobat restes fòssils a Espanya (incloent-hi el jaciment paleontològic de Sossís, al Pallars Jussà), França (incloent-hi les fosforites del Carcí) i Suïssa.[1] Eren artiodàctils diminuts, encara que amb una possible tendència evolutiva cap a una mida cada cop més gran. Les dents molars superiors presenten un grau considerable de selenodòncia,[2] caràcter típic dels remugants moderns.[3] El nom genèric Haplomeryx significa ‘remugant simple’.[4]
