Driophlox és un gènere d'ocells passeriformes de la família dels cardinàlids (Cardinalidae). Les quatre espècies classificades en aquest gènere anteriorment s'havien classificat amb l'havia de coroneta vermella (Habia rubica) al gènere Habia.

Sistemàtica

El gènere Driophlox va ser creat el 2024 per Scott, Chesser, Unitt i Burns.[1]

Les espècies ara classificades en aquest gènere anteriorment s'havien classificat amb l'havia de coroneta vermella al gènere Habia. L'anàlisi filogenètica molecular va trobar que el gènere Habia era parafilètic.[2][3] Per resoldre la parafília, es van traslladar quatre espècies de Habia a un nou gènere Driophlox que es va erigir amb Phoenicothraupis gutturalis (Sclater, 1854), l'havia fosca com a espècie tipus.[1][4] El nom del gènere combina el grec antic «δριος/drios» que significa “bosc petit” o “bosquet” amb «φλοξ/phlox, φλογος/phlogos» que significa “flama”.[5]
