Pot arribar a fer 22 cm de llargària màxima.[4][5]

És un peix d'aigua dolça, pelàgic i de clima tropical (22 °C-27 °C).[4][6]

Es troba a Àfrica: els rius costaners del Gabon, el Camerun[7] i la república del Congo.[8][9]

És inofensiu per als humans.[4]
