Hong je nastupio na Olimpijskim igrama u biatlonu dva puta i to na ZOI 1988. u Calgaryju u Kanadi[2] i na ZOI 1992. u Albertvillu u Francuskoj.[3] U pojedinačnoj konkurenciji najbolji plasman na ZOI 1988. bilo mu je 62-o mjesto u utrci na 20 km, kada je od 71 takmičara s 8 promašaja i zaostatkom od 17:29.9 min bio iza pobjednika njemačkog biatlonca Frank-Petera Rötscha.
