Birmingham City Football Club je profesionalni nogometni klub iz Birminghama, grofovija West Midlands, Engleska. Trenutno nastupa u Championshipu, drugom rangu engleskog nogometa.

Klub je osnovan kao Small Heath Alliance 1875. godine, potom je postao Small Heath, 1905. godine mijenja ime u Birmingham, da bi konačno 1943. godine promijenio ime u Birmingham City. Najveći uspjeh u historiji kluba je osvajanje Liga kupa 1963. i 2011. godine, te finale 2001. godine. U FA kupu je stizao do finala 1931. i 1956. godine. Od 1906. godine domaće utakmice igra na stadionu St Andrew's. Birmingham City ima veliko rivalstvo sa Aston Villom, sa kojom igra Birminghamski derbi.

Historija

Birmingham City je osnovan kao Small Heath Alliance 1875. godine. Domaće utakmice je prvobitno igrao na stadionu Muntz Street. Na profesionalnom nivou klub počinje da se takmiči od 1885. godine.[2] Tri godine kasnije postaje prvi nogometni klub koji je postao društvo sa ograničenom odgovornošću sa upravnim odborom, pod imenom Small Heath FC. U sezoni 1889/90. je nastupao u Football Alliance. 1892. godine Small Heath i ostali članovi Alliance su pozvani da sa takmiče u tek osnovanoj Football League Second Division. U prvoj sezoni novog takmičenja osvaja titulu, međutim nije izborio promociju u viši rang zbog poraza u play-offu. Naredne sezone nakon pobjede u play-offu protiv Darwena klub uspjeva izboriti promociju u First Division. 1905. godine mijenja ime u Birmingham Football Club, a godinu dana kasnije prelazi na novi stadion, nazvan St Andrew's. Birmingham ispada iz lige 1908. godine, te ostaje u drugoj diviziji do kraja Prvog svjetskog rata.
