ডোনাল্ড স্কট (রাজনীতিবিদ)

স্যার রবার্ট ডোনাল্ড স্কট (১৩ নভেম্বর ১৯০১ - ১৮ জুন ১৯৭৪) একজন ব্রিটিশ কনজারভেটিভ পার্টির রাজনীতিবিদ ছিলেন।[১]

প্রাথমিক জীবন এবং শিক্ষা

স্কট ছিলেন নিউক্যাসল-আপন-টাইনের কাঠ আমদানিকারক উইলিয়াম স্কটের ছেলে। তিনি কেমব্রিজের মিল হিল স্কুল এবং ম্যাগডালিন কলেজে শিক্ষা লাভ করেন। তার বাবা তাকে নর্থম্বারল্যান্ডের থ্রপটনে ক্যাস্ট্রন নামে একটি খামার কিনে দেন, যেটি তিনি ১৯২৬ সাল থেকে চাষ করেন।[২][৩]

রাজনৈতিক পেশা

স্কট ২২ জুলাই ১৯৪০-এ একটি উপ-নির্বাচনে ওয়ানসবেকের সংসদ সদস্য (এমপি) হিসাবে বিনা প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বিতায় নির্বাচিত হন, কিন্তু ১৯৪৫ সালের সাধারণ নির্বাচনে তিনি লেবার এর আলফ রবেন্সের কাছে তার আসন হারান, যিনি ১৩,০০০ ভোটের সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতা নিয়ে জয়ী হন।

তিনি মে থেকে জুলাই ১৯৪৫ পর্যন্ত কৃষি ও মৎস্য মন্ত্রণালয়ের যুগ্ম সংসদীয় সচিব হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।

১৯৫০ সালের সাধারণ নির্বাচনে, তিনি পেনরিথ এবং দ্য বর্ডারের নতুন নির্বাচনী এলাকার জন্য সংসদে ফিরে আসেন, যেখানে তিনি ১৯৫১ সালের নির্বাচনে পুনরায় নির্বাচিত হন। ১৯৫৫ সালের সাধারণ নির্বাচনে তিনি পদত্যাগ করেন, যখন তিনি ভবিষ্যত উপ-প্রধানমন্ত্রী উইলিয়াম হোয়াইটলোর স্থলাভিষিক্ত হন। স্কট ১৯৫৫ সালে নাইট উপাধি লাভ করেন।[৪]

স্কট কাউন্টি লাউথের ব্যালিগ্যাসন হাউসের জেজে রাসেলের মেয়ে অলিভ আনা ড্যাফনিকে বিয়ে করেছিলেন। তাদের দুটি কন্যা ছিল, (এলেনোরা) মৌরিন রাসেল স্কট এবং (রাচেল) মিরাবেল স্টিল স্কট।[৫][৬]
