স্তন্যপান করা গাধা

গাধার দুধ (বা জেনি দুধ) হল গৃহপালিত গাধার (ইকুস অ্যাসিনাস) দুধ। এটি প্রাচীনকাল থেকে প্রসাধনী তৈরির উদ্দেশ্যে এবং শিশুর পুষ্টির জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়ে আসছে।

ইতিহাস

মিশরে প্রাচীনকাল থেকেই গাধার দুধ মানুষ খাদ্য ও প্রসাধনী কাজে ব্যবহার করে আসছে; [১] চিকিত্সকরা এর নিরাময় এবং প্রসাধনী গুণাবলীর কারণে একে বিভিন্ন যন্ত্রণার চিকিত্সার জন্য সুপারিশ করতেন। [২]

হিপোক্রেটিস (৪৬০ - ৩৭০ খ্রিস্টপূর্ব), তিনিই প্রথম গাধার দুধের ঔষধি ব্যবহারের কথা লিখেছিলেন এবং বিষক্রিয়া, জ্বর, সংক্রামক রোগ, শোথ, ক্ষত নিরাময়, নাক থেকে রক্তপাত এবং যকৃতের সমস্যা সহ অসংখ্য অবস্থার জন্য এটি ব্যবহার করেছিলেন। [৩] [৪] রোমান যুগে গাধার দুধ একটি স্বীকৃত প্রতিকার ছিল; প্লিনি দ্য এল্ডার (২৩ - ৭৯ খ্রিস্টাব্দ) তার বিশ্বকোষীয় সৃষ্টিকর্ম, ন্যাচারালিস হিস্টোরিয়ায়, এর স্বাস্থ্য উপকারিতা সম্পর্কে ব্যাপকভাবে লিখেছেন, যেমন জ্বর, ক্লান্তি, চোখের চাপ, দুর্বল দাঁত, মুখের বলিরেখা, বিষক্রিয়া, ঘা, হাঁপানি এবং কিছু স্ত্রীরোগ সংক্রান্ত সমস্যায় গাধার দুধের উপকারিতার কথা তুলে ধরেছেন। [৫] কিন্তু রেনেসাঁর আগ পর্যন্ত গাধার দুধের প্রকৃত বৈজ্ঞানিক বিবেচনা করা হয়নি। ঊনবিংশ শতাব্দীতে ফ্রান্সের, হসপিটাল ডেস এনফ্যান্টস অ্যাসিস্টের ডাঃ প্যারট মাতৃহীন বাচ্চাদের গাধার দুধ পান করানোর অভ্যাস ছড়িয়ে দেন (বুলেটিন ডি ল'অ্যাকাডেমি ডি মেডিসিন, ১৮৮২)। তখন থেকে গাধার দুধ বিংশ শতাব্দী পর্যন্ত অনাথ শিশুদের খাওয়ানো এবং নাজুক শিশু, অসুস্থ ও বয়স্কদের নিরাময়ের জন্য বিক্রি করা হতো। এ কারণে গ্রিস, ইতালি, বেলজিয়াম, জার্মানি, সুইজারল্যান্ডে অনেক গাধার খামারের জন্ম হয়। [৬] আজকাল গাধার দুধ মূলত সাবান এবং ময়েশ্চারাইজার তৈরিতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
