কানাডা উত্তর আমেরিকা মহাদেশের এক বিশাল অংশ জুড়ে রয়েছে। এটি দক্ষিণের পুরো সীমান্ত মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের সাথে, উত্তর-পশ্চিমেও মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের আলাস্কা দ্বীপের অবস্থান। কানাডা পূর্বে আটলান্টিক মহাসাগর থেকে পশ্চিমে প্রশান্ত মহাসাগর পর্যন্ত বিস্তৃত এবং এর উত্তরে উত্তর মহাসাগর অবস্থিত।[১]

কানাডার মোট আয়তন ৯৯,৮৪,৬৭০ কিমি২ (৩৮,৫৫,১০০ মা২) এবং এটি ৮টি প্রধান ভূপ্রাকৃতিক বিভাগে বিভক্ত।[২] কানাডার উপকূলীয় এলাকার দৈর্ঘ্য ২,৪৩,০৪২ কিলোমিটার (১,৫১,০১৯ মা) এবং এটি বিশ্বের দীর্ঘতম উপকূল রেখা।[৩]

বায়ু দূষণ এবং এর ফলস্বরূপ অ্যাসিড বৃষ্টি মারাত্মকভাবে হ্রদগুলিকে প্রভাবিত করে এবং বনের ক্ষতি করে।[৪] ধাতু গলানো, কয়লা পোড়ানো এবং যানবাহন হতে ধোয়ার নির্গমন কৃষি ও বনের উৎপাদনশীলতাকে প্রভাবিত করে। কৃষি, শিল্প, খনন এবং বনায়ন কার্যক্রমের দ্বারা মহাসাগরের জলও দূষিত হচ্ছে।

কানাডা বর্তমানে বৈশ্বিক গড়ের চেয়ে দ্বিগুণ হারে তাপমাত্রা উষ্ণ করছে এবং এটি অপরিবর্তনীয় হারে ঘটছেই।[৫]
