কবিতা (১৯৫২ - ৮ জুন ২০১২)[১] একজন বাংলাদেশী চলচ্চিত্র অভিনেত্রী ছিলেন। তিনি নায়িকা ববিতার সমসাময়িক ছিলেন।

চলচ্চিত্রে আগমন

১৯৬৭ সালে পাপিয়া নামে শিশু শিল্পী হিসেবে প্রথম ‘কাঞ্চন মালা’ ছবিতে তিনি অভিনয় করেন। পরে ১৯৬৯ সালে মলুয়া নামের চলচ্চিত্রের নায়িকা হিসেবে অভিনয় করেন এবং নাম ধারণ করেন কবিতা। ষাটের দশকে তিনি সহ নায়িকা হিসেবে বিভিন্ন চলচ্চিত্রে অভিনয় করেন। পরে সত্তরের দশকে তিনি নায়িকা চরিত্রে অভিনয় করেন। কবিতা যখন নায়িকা হিসেবে খ্যাতির মধ্য গগনে তখন একজন ব্যবসায়ীকে বিয়ে করে চলচ্চিত্র জগৎ থেকে বিদায় নেন।[২]

১৯৮২ সালে পারিবারিক বিপর্যয়ের মুখে তিনি ব্যবসায়ী স্বামীর সাথে সম্পর্কের পাট চুকিয়ে দেন। তিনি তখন আবার চলচ্চিত্রের জগতে আসার চেষ্টা চালালেও সফল হননি। কবিতা দেখতে সুদর্শনা, নৃত্যে কুশলী এবং অভিনয়ে স্বছন্দ ছিলেন। ‘ধন্যি মেয়ে’ নামের চলচ্চিত্রে যমজ মেয়ের অভিনয় করে তিনি সমালোচকদের দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ করেন।[৩]
