Астраном Капернік, або размова з Богам (польск.: Astronom Kopernik, czyli rozmowa z Bogiem) — алейная карціна польскага мастака Яна Матэйкі, на якой намаляваны Мікалай Капернік, які назірае за небам са сваёй прыватнай вежы на кафедральным пагорку ў Фромбарку. Карціна знаходзіцца ў калекцыі Ягелонскага ўніверсітэта.

Гісторыя

Нагодай для напісання карціны стала 400-годдзе з дня нараджэння астранома ў 1873 годзе. Падрыхтоўчую працу Матэйка вёў з 1871 года, спачатку навучаўся ў Ягелонскай бібліятэцы і Археалагічным кабінеце Ягелонскага ўніверсітэта. На гэтым этапе былі створаны два алейныя эцюды: адзін знаходзіцца ў калекцыі Нацыянальнага музея ў Кракаве, а другі — у калекцыі Барбары Пясецкай-Джонсан у Прынстане, ЗША. Эскіз са збору Нацыянальнага музея быў намаляваны на кардоне памерам 415 × 520 мм[1].

Карціну мастак пачаў пісаць летам 1872 года і скончыў у наступным годзе. Для карціны пазаваў нават Генрык Левіту, варшаўскі лекар і натураліст, малодшы брат Караля Левіту[1], змоўшчыка, які трагічна загінуў у 1841 годзе.

Прэзентацыя карціны адбылася 19 лютага 1873 года ў зале гарадской рады. У першы дзень прагляд быў бясплатным, на наступны дзень толькі школьнікі мелі права на бясплатны квіток. З 21 па 25 лютага ўваход быў платным, а атрыманыя грошы Матэйка выкарыстоўваў для арганізацыі мастацкіх выстаў[2].

21 сакавіка штодзённая газета «Czas», якая выдавалася ў Кракаве, паведаміла пра намер набыць карціну і перадаць яе ў дар Акадэміі мастацтваў і навук. Купляй павінен быў займацца Пётр Машынскі, а Матэйка ацаніў карціну ў 12 000 гульдэнаў. Праз дзень ён абвясціў, што карціна будзе перададзена Ягелонскаму ўніверсітэту «ў гонар самага вядомага студэнта».

У сакавіку 1873 года карціна была вывезена за граніцу, у Варшаву, дзе дэманстравалася ў галерэі Таварыства заахвочвання прыгожых мастацтваў. Сродкі ад продажу квіткоў у суме 1313 рублёў былі накіраваны на мастацкія стыпендыі. Прэзентацыя карціны завяршылася 8 красавіка пасля тэлеграмы Матэйкі аб адпраўцы карціны на выставу ў Вену. Там карціна дэманстравалася на агульнай выставе, якая доўжылася з 1 чэрвеня па 31 кастрычніка.
